One of the most elusive creatures of the forest, ranking up high with Nymphs and Dryads, is the Faerie. Faeries are said to be the daughters and sons of gods. Their beauty is outstanding, a sleek, but muscular body, long hair, pale skin and a perfect face with full lips, deep eyes and high cheekbones. They are graceful and kind, but very suspicious of those not from the forest. Faeries often speak the common tounge, elven, Nymph and Dryad. Combat: While most creatures with the beauty of a Faerie flee when danger approaches, Faeries will fight. They wear extremely fine chain mail (AC0), and carry a short sword. They fight with nearly unmatched ferocity on their home turf, much like a cornered animal. Oft times, they use the Faerie fire a powerful blast of blue flame that can utterly decimate an enemy line. However, it draws on their strength when used, causing 2 Hitpoints to be drained per use. |
Habitat/Society: Faeries come in both male and female variaties, although the majority of them are female. Males are looked on with mild disinterest, most aren't even used for breeding. Faeries of both kinds tend to seek out members of the other races to breed with, usually with a quality they especially admire. However the children are almost always female, and still possess the incredible looks and the powerful Faerie fire. Faeries are mostly solitary, but band together in times of need, such as to repel an ocrish army or such. They frequently assist elves in the defense of their homes. Ecology: Faeries don't really fill any ecological niche, but instead fill every void that pops up. They don't like to talk to humans unless looking for a mate, and won't ever associate with Dwarves or Halflings. However, if persuaded to cooperate, their Faerie Fire can be harnessed by a Druid or 11th level Mage and used to bolster the power of an already exsisting Magical Item. Or it can be used to enchant a new weapon. Faerie chain mail is the finest in all the lands, and is worth insurmountable ammounts to many nobles. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
