At a distance he may be mistaken for another less threatening form of undead. Immediately at a closer look his flashing yellow eyes and four skeletal arms will betray his true more ominous nature. This intelligent undead will also wear armor to help defend his magically strengthened bones. Combat: In combat the Dread bone is a horror to behold. He is a whir of slashing blades with each arm able to attack in a single round. The creature may choose to use a shield thus sacrificing one of his attacks for a better armor class. The undead animation takes half damage from slahing weapons and only 1 point per attack from piercing weapons. He may lock his gaze on one victim per round without affecting his melee attack. The victim must save vs spells or be affected by a slow spell. |
Habitat/Society: Often used as guards and enforcers for high level evil necromancers they are lesser spirits from the negative plane bound by magic to the bones they animate. They have an inate hatred for life but as long as their master lives they can only obey his command. Ecology: Created by a spell of the same name (Create Dread Bone) they have no natural place and even the death of their master wont release them from their host.
