Light dragons are the paladins of dragonhood. Their sole purpose in life is to protect all dragon kind. They
hate all injustice and foul play.
At birth, a light dragon's
scales are transparent with small motes of light dancing in them. The motes get larger as the dragon matures until, at the adult stage, the scales are completely light filled.
Light dragons speak their own tongue, as well as the tongues common to all dragon kind, and 100% of all hatchling light dragons have an ability to communicate with any intelligent creature.
A light dragon has wings and a barbed tail.
Combat:
Light dragons usually talk before combat. When conversing with intelligent creatures they cast detect alignment and detect lie to gain the upper hand. It must be noted however that light dragons almost never get into fights. The only time they engage in combat is when a dragon is sorely out matched
or when a settlement of intelligent beings is being destroyed. They make heavy use of spells in combat. They use a level of magic that is not known among other races.(Level 10 spells)
A light dragon has one breath weapon:a beam of light(Laser)90'long, 10' wide, and
10' high. Creatures caught within this beam must make a save versus breath weapon or be disintegrated. If a save is made they take damage.(See below)
The light dragon has two special defences. The first is a light explosion that blinds all within sight, save versus spells to withstand effects. The second is the ability to subdue dragons. This ability always works. They use this ability to stop a dragon that is stupid enough
to attack them and to stop an evil dragon that is attacking a settlement.
A light dragon casts its spells and uses its magical abilities at 20th level, plus its combat modifier. Unlike most dragons, all light dragons seek formal magical training. These dragons own spell books and always have useful spells and items.
At birth, a light dragon have water breathing ability, can speak with all intelligent life, and are immune to fire and lightning.
They can also polymorph self at will.

Habitat/Society:
Light dragons can live anywhere. Their lairs are secluded and always made out of solid stone encrusted with diamonds and rubies, either caves or castles. These always have loyal guards: either animals appropriate to the terrain, or gold dragons.
The dragons serve as guards through a mutual agreement to learn at the light dragons hands.
Ecology:
Light dragons can eat almost anything, however, they usually sustain themselves on gems that retain light such as diamonds and rubies. Light dragons that receive diamonds and rubies from good or neutral creatures will usually be favorably inclined
